The Katadyn Vario Water Filter
combines individual efficiency with the simplest possible handling.
The technology it uses consists of three filter levels: a high-performance glass fiber filter, a ceramic pre-filter that can be adjusted individually according to the cloudiness of the water, and active charcoal for eliminating odors.
Anyone who needs up to two liters of drinking water per minute can use the glass fiber and active charcoal filter.
If the water is extremely cloudy, the ceramic pre-filter can be fitted in a moment in order to extend the service life of the glass fiber filter.
The Vario is compatible with most standard outdoor bottles and hydration bladders.

Vario features a 2-filter system; 1 is a 0.2-micron, pleated glass-fiber filter used to remove waterborne bacteria and cysts

Secondary ceramic filter, engaged with a simple twist of the casing, is used to pre-filter debris in dirty water away from primary filter

Keeping turbid water away from the primary filter effectively extends its usable life

Vario is also a high-output system, filtering up to 2 qt. per min. in “fast flow mode” (filtering clean water with ceramic filter disengaged)

In “longer life mode” (ceramic filter engaged), unit produces 1 qt. per min.
